SAN FRANCISCO INT'L AIRPORT - EMERGENCY RESPONSE MARINE FACILITY
San Francisco, California
Coast & Harbor Engineering (CHE) performed analysis and developed design criteria for the proposed Emergency Response Marine Facility (ERMF) at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The goal of the project was to provide environmental design criteria to be used to solicit design-build proposals.
CHE's analysis included wind analysis, wind-wave growth and transformation modeling, 3D Volume of Fluids modeling of wave-float interaction and forces, and calculation of loads on the floats and support piles. CHE's responsibilities also included development of the project's concrete float performance specifications section.
